On March 29, 2013 (Tomorrow ~ Friday) Always There's Management Team is recognizing our dedicated staff's years of service.  The ceremony will continue through 9AM to 3PM. There will be refreshments ~ each employee honored will receive a Years of Service pin and a gift from Always There.

This Easter much gratitude to the Always There's Staff and the Always There's Staff Recognition Committee for collecting items to fill Easter baskets and give them to the children at the Kingston Homeless Shelter.  We gathered names, ages and interests for each child. And thanks to the great support ~ each child is receiving an amazing Easter Basket of goodies. Always There Adult Day Program ~ Chef's Corner

IRISH SODA BREAD FROM THE ALWAYS THERE ADULT DAY PROGRAM:

2 cups flour
4 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
3/4 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon of salt
1 cup buttermilk
3 tablespoons butter, cold and diced
2/3 cup raisins.

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix dry ingredients together. Add butter and mix in with flour until mixture resembles a coarse texture, like cornmenal. Form a well in the center adding buttermilk inside. Stirring slowly incorporate till a dough forms. Add raisins mixing well into dough. Dust hands well with flour and shape dough into a ball. Place in a greased 8" or 9" pan slightly pressing down in the center. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of sugar on top of bread and bake for 40 minutes or until when putting a knife in the center it comes out clean. Cool in pan for 10 minutes; then transfer to cooling rack.
